COLOUR 4-ES

The Colour 4-ES (M4CES) head for colour photography is an optional addition to Meopta enlargers, allowing control of both colour balance and intensity.

The M4CES enables a continuous, smooth setting of the density required for the given correction filter.  Any of the three filters is set by means of turning knobs C, M and Y on the front panel of the instrument, fitted with illuminated scales. The dichroic filters used, which have been manufactured by vacuum-evaporation of dielectric layers on a glass carrier, are highly heat resistant, colour-fast, and their service life is practically unlimited. The filtration range of all three filters is 0...200 filtration units. The set colour filtration can be easily cleared by the lever on the left side of the instrument. Setting of the overall output intensity is accomplished by means of a perforated disc which is introduced into the light path by the knob D. The maximum scale value is 60 density units which corresponds to approximately 2 stop numbers of the lens. There is also an override lever on the right side of the instrument.

The primary light source is a ESJ 82V/85W halogen reflector lamp,  which features high efficiency and high colour temperature. The lamp has excellent long-term stability, the drop during the whole life time being approximately 2%.

The halogen lamp is powered from an electronic stabilisation unit, directly built-in to the colour head body, so no external transformer is required. The stabilisation unit assures the lamp supply voltage stability with a precision better than 2% for mains voltage variations within ±10% and features a soft-start after switch-on which prevents unwanted inrush current which shortens lamp life. The electronic stabilisation unit is factory preset to the common mains voltages used around the world.

Novex Darkroom Timers

The double-range darkroom timer ( NOVEX2 ) is used for precise control of the exposure time of the enlarger. Owing to the precise repeatability of the exposure time it is suitable for work with black and white as well as colour photographic material. Furthermore it may be used for work in laboratories and other applications.

The Novex Student ( NOVEXSTU ) has only one range.

Switching current: 6 amps @ 240 Vac 50Hz.
Switching range: "1x" 0.2 - 6 sec., "10x" 2.0 - 60 sec. ( Novex Student 2.0 – 60 sec. only )
Dimensions: 98x140x78 mm

Rotary Trimmers

This rotary disk paper cutter is intended for an exact and even trimming of all paper sorts up to thickness of 1mm. It may be used for cutting plastic and similar materials up to thickness of 0.5 mm, or non-ferrous metal sheets up to thickness of 0.2 mm. The operation of a quality cut is based on the interaction of two cutters - a disk and a straight edge. When the carriage is moved along the guide rod the disk rotates against the fixed edge giving a clean cut. The paper to be cut is clamped under the transparent rule for stability. Transparent rule is fitted with locating lines on its under side being parallel to the cutting edge spaced at 2.5, 5, 7.5 & 10 mm.
